Too Faced La Crème Lipstick in Spice Spice Baby

I still have a hard time justifying buying higher-end lipsticks, but after using and loving my NARS Dolce Vita and small collection of MAC lippies, I can definitely see the appeal and addiction towards more expensive lip products. Don’t get me wrong — I will forever keep buying drugstore lip products, but I have to admit, the quality of higher-end lipsticks are sometimes, no comparison to drugstore brands.

Wanting to try a new brand, I picked up a Too Faced La Crème Lipstick in the shade Spice Spice Baby.  Just like the NARS Dolce Vita, I opted for a neutral, easy, MLBB-ish shade that I could wear every day if I wanted to.  My thought is that if I’m spending almost or over $30 for one lipstick, it better be one that I can wear every day!

On the Sephora website:

What it is:
A rich and creamy lip color infused with moisturizing and strengthening benefits.

What it does:
Indulge lips with luxurious color and super moisturizers including white lotus flower and power peptides. This rich formula comes in abundant shades in four essential color ranges: nudes, spices, pinks, and reds. Edited to only the most fashionable shades, it’s impossible to pick just one.

Let’s admire this lipstick bullet, first of all. Gold and so chic!  It’s got ‘Too Faced’ embossed on the side and the product has a good weight to it — definitely feels as luxurious as it looks.

The shade Spice Spice Baby is definitely one that I can wear (most people can, I presume) every day and would pair nicely with pretty much any makeup look.  It’s a pinky-brown colour that enhances my lip colour if it do a sheer swipe; if I build it up, it tends to look more pink — still wearable, but a bit more intense.

The formula of this lipstick is soooo creamy! It makes my lips feel moisturized and is very comfortable to wear.

This is not a long-wearing formula, but with frequent sips of coffee (will transfer), this will give me about 2-3 hours of wear before substantial fading.

This range has some really great shades that run from nudes to reds — if you go check them out, I’m sure you’ll find one (or more!) that would suit your skintone.

I purchased this at Sephora for $26 Cdn.

I give the Too Faced La Crème Lipstick in Spice Spice Baby: a STANDING OVATION
