Beauty Product Review: Rimmel Stay Blushed! Liquid Cheek Tint

Hello Pretties!

If there’s one makeup item I really enjoy using aside from mascara I’d have to say it’s blush. A nice wash of colour on the cheeks just brightens up the complexion, even when the rest of your makeup is minimal or none. In keeping with my aim to keep my spring face makeup light and natural looking, I thought I’d play around with a cream blush and I stumbled across —Β the Rimmel Stay Blushed! Liquid Cheek Tint in 004 Sunkissed Cherry:

This cream-mousse textured blush comes in 5 shades in the pink and coral range. I picked this up at Target for $5.99 Cdn. The consistency is one that is very light, almost like a whipped mousse texture. The coverage is quite pigmented — below is the amount I use to cover both my cheeks and found that it was more than enough:

At first try, I applied with my fingers and blended it in with my fingers. I found that I didn’t get a decent looking “shape” onto my cheeks — it ended up looking a bit uneven and I had to really blend out the edges with a blush brush to tone down the colour and blur out any harsh edges. I found that using a stippling brush was the best way to apply this blush formula. I put a dot of it on the back of my hand, stippled my brush on it until I got a good coat of it on the tips of the brush and then stippled in onto my cheeks. Finally, I swirled the stipple brush on my cheeks to blend the blush in.

This leaves a slightly powdery, slightly dewy finish to my skin. The colour, 004 Sunkissed Cherry, is a shade that is a deepΒ pinky-coral.Β This can definitely be built up for more intense colour on the cheeks but blended in well, it can provide such a nice, natural wash of colour. It leans more towards a deep coral shade on my medium skin tone (for your reference)

I purposely built up the coverage for this photo so that you could see the colour on my medium skintone.

And here I am with it on closer into the natural light.

I’d say this is formula would be best suited for those with drier cheeks — however, although I am normal/oily on my cheeks at times, I find this still works fine for me. The staying power of this is quite long — a good 6-7 hours maybe. I really like the tube packaging as it gives control as to how much you use and practically no mess upon application.

I’d be interested to try out some of the other colours in the collection, but for now, I think the colour I have suits me just fine!

I give the Rimmel Stay Blushed! Liquid Cheek Tint: a HIGH FIVE

Thanks for tuning in Pretties!!
