Hello again Pretties!
I’m here for my second beauty product review for YOU! Did you enjoy my first review on the Rêve de Miel lip balm by Nuxe? Did I convince you enough to try and/or buy it? I am still very much enjoying mine! Click here to read my review! 🙂
Today, I’m here to give you some information about a product that I discovered, mmm, probably three months ago and I have to be honest – I am completely obsessed with this stuff — it’s the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil by The Body Shop. I’ve been raving about this product to pretty much all my girlfriends since I’ve been using it and if I could give every Pretty a try of this stuff, I would.
As you can clearly see from the photo, I don’t lie – I AM completely obsessed with this product… I have two in my stash right at this moment as I am about a dozen pumps away from finishing off the bottle I’m currently working on.
I stumbled across this product by way of some YouTube reviews (I can’t remember who, I’m sorry) and this was raved about. I was intrigued because of the concept of using an oil to cleanse one’s face — how weird is that? I imagined it to feel like smearing vegetable oil on my face and then trying to rinse it off… how awful does that sound!? We all know oil and water don’t mix, so how could something like this cleansing oil work to clean your face? Let me tell you… It Works.
Essentially, this oil feels oily, but not greasy if that makes any sense at all. It’s marketed as a make-up remover and that it definitely is. It completely melts all traces of make-up off my face at the end of each day. I use two pumps, rub between my hands and apply to my dry face. It’s a bit odd rubbing oil on my face, but it’s quite a pleasant experience actually. It has a very subtle soft, fresh floral scent. Having combination type skin, I was really weirded out about applying oil to the oily parts of my face. But I have not had any issues with this clogging my pores; if anything this oil just makes my face feel super clean and clear. This oil is targeted for all skin types.
This oil completely removes ALL my make-up. I wear waterproof mascara on a daily basis and this stuff just melts it off, without me having to rub my lashes hard at all. I rub this all over my face for about a minute and rinse off with warm water. You will find that this rinses so clean and not greasy at all and leaves the skin so soft and not feeling stripped of any moisture. I don’t usually follow up with my regular facial cleanser after this — I feel like this is enough for a cleansed face before bed.
I have to admit, I was forever one of those women who was always so lazy to wash my face before going to bed each night — and that’s a bad habit and YOU know who you are too, Pretties! But the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil actually makes me want to wash my face every night. One bottle will last about two months, I’d say, if used every single night. Like I said earlier, I’m just about done my first bottle and excited to crack open the next!
This retails at The Body Shop for $16 Cdn. However, The Body Shop has many great promotions throughout the year such as buy 3 get 2 free, or 40% of sitewide for online shopping. I picked up my first bottle at 40% in-store and my back-up stash I recently ordered online with the same discount. Honestly though, I would pay regular price for this make-up remover if I really needed it! And just an FYI – if you do order online from The Body Shop, the items come very well packaged — I was a bit worried about opening up the box and having oil spilled all over the place, but no issues there.
Washing my face is fun now, not a chore. I don’t know, I really really enjoy using this cleansing oil — I’m curious to know how other cleansing oils perform compared to this. Have you tried any other cleansing oils? How do you like them?
I give the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil by The Body Shop: a STANDING OVATION!
I hope you enjoyed my review. Let me know if you’ve tried this and what you think of it! If you have any questions about this product, leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to answer!
Remember, if there’s anything you’d like me to try and review, I will do my darndest to do so!
Thanks for tuning in, my fellow Pretties!
